Welcome to the website of Bitescience (“we” or “us”), www.bitescience.com (the "Site" or "Website"). Bitescience is the sole owner of this website. Set out below are terms and conditions for use of this website. You agree to be bound by these terms if you use the Bitescience website. Be sure to check this page periodically for updates, as your continued use of the website signifies your acceptance of any changed items.

1. Our service
Bitescience offers bite-size, accessible, and attractive short articles about scientific research in the field of Communication and Media, arranged in one place and tailored to your specific interests. The use of Bitescience is free.
2. Account
2.1 You can use Bitescience with or without an account. For an account we need at least your full name and e-mail address. Only with an account can we register your interests and send notifications and newsletters.
2.2 By creating an account, you agree that Bitescience can send you notifications of new articles and newsletters to the specified e-mail address. The default setting is that you will receive a biweekly notification by e-mail of all new articles in your chosen areas of interest. You can always indicate via the settings whether you want to continue to receive these newsletters and whether (and in what frequency) you want to receive notifications.
2.3 You can cancel your Bitescience account with immediate effect via settings.
3. Our intellectual property
3.1 The Bitescience name (including the terms “Bitescience Research Update” and “Bitefile”) and logo are registered trademarks of Bitescience. All rights reserved.
3.2 The content, including the written materials, audio, video and all visuals on the website, is the intellectual property of Bitescience or is republished by Bitescience under limited exceptions to the copyright laws. All rights of Bitescience or other copyright holders are reserved. You may only download and use content from this site as permitted by this notice.
3.3 Bitescience grants permission to Users to use written content from Bitescience’s online service; provided, however, that the Company must always attribute the written content to Bitescience by maintaining all registration and service marks contained in such content. If you have obtained information from our Bitescience Research Updates, we prefer that you cite the original source as well as Bitescience. For example, you could cite "An & Stern (2011) in Journal of Advertising, as reported by Bitescience." We also encourage you to include the relevant uniform resource locator (URL) from our website, www.bitescience.com.
3.4 We encourage you to pass along any of our content (newsletters and free articles) to others.
3.5 Any violation of this "Terms of Use" may be cause for immediate termination and revocation of the License.
4. Content of other sites
Our website may provide links to websites not operated by Bitescience. Access to any other sites linked to the Bitescience website is at your own risk. 5.2 Bitescience reserves the right to put the online activities on hold at any time.

6.1 These terms and conditions enter into force on January 1st, 2019.
6.2 The law of the Netherlands shall apply to these Terms and Conditions.
